NW General Meeting

GRAPE COORDINATOR’S REPORT:

Members are directed to the new club website http://www.nanaimowinemakers.org. Members are reminded to order as soon as possible to ensure their priority placing.

The June General Meeting will be rescheduled to accommodate guest, Don Ackerman from Paso Robles

EXECUTIVE MEETING:

The May Executive meeting included some further discussion regarding the Varietal, made plans for the Varietal 2008, discussed arrangements for the summer barbeque, reviewed the treasurer’s report and conducted other miscellaneous business.

RAFFLE WINE:

The raffle wine, a 2005 Alexander Valley Zinfandel, Sin Zin was won by Claude Therrien.

EDUCATIONAL SESSION:

Ernie Sargent hosted a most informative, colourful and thoroughly enjoyable hands-on session featuring the pairing of wines with foods.

NEXT GENERAL MEETING:

Will be held June 13th at 7 pm at the Kin Hut on Departure Bay. The meeting will feature guest speaker, Don Ackerman, Director of Central Coast Vineyards and Grower Relations for Foster's Wine Estates. The evening will include a reds-in-progress session.

OTHER UPCOMING MEETINGS:

The May executive meeting is held on Thursday, May the 10th.

The Judges’ Guild meeting will be held Thursday, May the 24th and the subject will be Rosés.
